I'm looking for a couple weapons mounted light suggestions. The first one is more pressing as the one I had just failed pretty royally and got chucked. The other is a nice to have, but not all that urgent.

Mossberg 500 Pump

Looking for a light that can be mounted on Mossberg 500 pump.

  • Quality light and mount.
  • I don't care if I have to pay premium bucks as long as the damn thing works.
  • It needs to have a remote switch.
  • If I have to change furniture on the shotgun, so be it.
  • If, in the unlikely event it is the case, I have to replace the shotgun itself, it wouldn't be the end of the world, though I doubt that is necessary.
Beretta 92FS

I recently added one to the mix. Adding a light to this full-sized piece wouldn't be bad. I would need a mount/adapter as it isn't the kind with rails already on the frame and, naturally, the light itself. Not urgent though.

Thanks much! :s0155:

Mossberg 500 Pump
There really aren't great options for pump shotgun lights, most pretty much suck. IME there are two options I'd go with, a Surefire forend…
or
a Magpul style forend…
with a Reptilia Torch body…
and Modlite PLVH2 head…
I like the Torch bodies because it eliminates the need for and additional mount, places the light at 1 or 11 o'clock where it should be and keeps things tight with fewer failure points…just be sure you get the correct side for your application.
Add a tailcap off choice (this would be dependent on which side the light was on and whether a pressure switch is being utilized, which I'd avoid on a pump gun).

Beretta 92FS
I have no experience with 92 adapters, I'd have a rail model, but TDI is good stuff so I'd start there if I was in the market for one…

If I was buying a pistol right now today it was be a Modlite PL350 PLHV2…
If limited to 123 batteries I'd go with a Surefire X300 series.
That said, this is the one watch and will be next pistol light when it finally hits the market.

I noticed this fwiw

Best solution IMO for a 870 or 500 pump is the Streamlight TL Racker- I have one on my 870, and it works very well!

For full size Berettas, if budget is more limited, go with the Streamlilght TLR-1. Full size light, slightly 'retro' looking which fits the Beretta vibes. If you want to go all out, as mentioned earlier Modlite stuff is very good, or you cant go wrong with the Surefire X300. The newer X300 Turbo models are very good- excellent candela. Length and size fits a Beretta 92 very well. Most people go for the "B" model with the thumb screw. I actually prefer the not as popular "A" model with its quick detach system. Some people dont like the A because it can be loose/rattle. A couple of strips of hockey tape clears that right up, and the benefit of the A model i that you can quickly remove and mount the gun to various pistols. Makes it more versatile and you dont have to buy as many lights!
