I'm sorry it happened near you, but violence happens everywhere. Although it seems to be more prevalent in cities and that's too bad because urban living can be enjoyable under the right circumstances.

I just hope the phrase "I can't believe it could happen here" ever entered you mind.

Murder isn't anything new. This one just happened to occur in West Seattle.

Seems like 16 year old murdered a man out of some potential petty dispute that started because the 16 year old riding the bus was pulling the stop cable at every bus stop and not getting off. Basically just being a punk kid.

Still fake news though. Couldn't have happened in Seattle, they passed 594 and other Seattle specific gun laws that made all crime stop magically...

I wonder how fast the draw to fire speed was, makes ya wonder if you were carrying concealed if you could have responded in time to save your own life or that simply having the element of surprise would prevail being the murderer.

Seattle is a bubblegum hole run by socialist communist liberals. I just happen to be from there/ live there off and on and it is a fantastic place, but it's been rotting for a long time. No saving it at this point with the majority of blue voters perpetuating the endless cycle of financial irresponsibility and preponderance of stupidity.

West Seattle has been a 'land island' separated from the downtown bologna for a long time, high point was always a turd bucket once it became government housing but overall staying away from their and you'd be fine. Proliferation of the fatherless home, desensitization of youth toward violence, and drug/gang involvement have only made it worse.

Besides, this is a black kid at 16 who illegally had a firearm and murdered a man, it'll be lucky if it makes the headlines for very long. Doesn't help the anti gun agenda.

Are CPL holders allowed to carry on public transportation in the Seattle-Tacoma-Federal Way area?

The gun was out-of-battery as if it had recently been used. A single bullet was "stove-piped" in the firing chamber. Was it a HiPoint?

Sounds like an uninformed reporting. He shot the guy six times and a bullet doesn't stove pipe, a case does. Or even a cartridge some how getting caught in a weird feed failure, but not the bullet.

Also - no state or city can constitutionally, ban the legal carry of firearms on public transportation. Seattle is predominantly liberal, people who actually carry probably don't ride the bus to begin with because it can be such a bubblegum show.

I have rode the bus 3 times in my life and that was more than enough for a lifetime.

Let's see, young teenager, looking to start trouble, successfully raised the ire of a bus load of bus riders to the point of verbal confrontation(s) inside the bus.

a male passenger signals to exit the public bus, presumably watching the teenage antagonist get off through the back exit first, all the while continuing engaging in the verbal arguments as well as responding to the taunts by the teenage antagonist who is off the bus standing there awaiting the male's exit from the bus.

What on earth is wrong with this story?
1) why did the male leave a position of safety and get off the bus knowing there was a spun up and frenzied teenager screaming at him on the sidewalk?
2) why after the teenager got off didn't the bus driver just drive away and leave for the safety of their passengers?

One upmanship while in a testosterone rush is tough to control, but the male was an adult and should have realized he was being played.

Finally, to rant about seattle's gun control ad nauseam over this self promoting newspeek media rant [when have you seen such a detailed news media rant over a shooting? Ask youselves what was the news media's rationale?] playing into the antis game book as they now have yet another story from the naked city to push the city's leaders to tighten the grip around lawful citizens even further.

O look, another criminal shot an innocent man and killed him.
Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Elisabeth Warren have assured me that America is rassist, and this boy is inncent. If we only increased the amount of SNAP benefits payments this would have all been avoided

You are presuming the man who was shot intended the conflict whereas eye witness statements indicate such was not what actually happened.

Not quite sure about your position based on your posting. Not quite sure how this plays into the antis playbook as you say, what it shows is law abiding people are hindered by laws and those intent on committing crime don't care about them. 16 year old with an illegally possessed handgun murders a man. Seems like a major fail for antis to me.

If you heard being loudly being hollar'd as the bus's doors beging to open...Yo fool get off the bus, ya you foo, get your tired derrière off the bus, ya you, the one hollar'n at me on the bus....
[article quote: The driver and passengers, including the victim, expressed their anger at Ahmed. Ahmed and the victim quarreled …]

would you get off the bus?

My position...didn't you wonder after seeing the excruciating detail, including the PDog finding the shooter's firearm, seemingly almost immediately [?] why the newspeek blog went into regarding a run of the mill shooting?

Seattle's anti leaders will say, due to this incident, our citizens are not safe see some citizens got off a bus and was randomly shot by someone underage with a firearm, etc., etc., etc., and therefore there should be further firearm oversight/restrictions imposed.

The West Seattle blog is actually a far better news source for West Seattle than the major media outlets. It also provides details in stories that would never be published by msm.

This (for Seattle, specifically West Seattle) is not a run of the mill shooting. For Chicago sure, not West Seattle.

Gang idiots with guns isn't a new concept though. It just hadn't had significant presence in West Seattle.

Also, as stupid as it might be to listen to a idiot call him off the bus, the common person wouldn't expect to be gunn down so casually.

I rode the bus quite alot when I lived and worked in Seattle from 1989 to 97. Usually along Aurora Ave/Hwy 99. Then down 3rd Ave through the "free ride" zone. A shooting was about the only thing I didn't see. Morning commute was not too bad but the evening run could be a real jackpot.

SeattleTimes Quote: 2016:
The four South End cities accounted for 40 percent of the 66 homicides in King County last year. A total of eight people in the county were killed in officer-involved shootings during the same period, bringing the total to 74.

According to the medical examiner's 2015 annual report, 67 homicides were committed in King County in 2015 and 63 in 2014, numbers that include officer-involved shootings. While police agencies don't count officer-involved shootings in their homicide statistics, the medical examiner does. Unquote.
More homicides in South King County than in Seattle in 2016

I believe I would be more concerned of the officer-involved killings where QI lets them walk with impunity.
