Just saw a young Lee Marvin on a very old "Tombstone Territory" TV show today. One of the greats for sure!

Monte Walsh is a excellent movie for sure.
The "novel" ...more like a series of connected short stories is a good read too.
Written by Jack Schaefer ...same fella that wrote Shane.

A few weeks back I watched the remake with Tom Selleck and Keith Carradine (2003), they did a real good job following the original, right down to specific lines. The only major difference was the wolf scenes in the original vs the John Michael Higgins/Robert Slocumb character in the 2003 version. I like them both. All four men have made some really good cowboy characters.
