Marlin 336, in 35rem. Built in 1950 per the serial number. Action is very smooth, trigger is light, no crossbar safety.
Bought it at a bargain 2 months ago for $350. I replaced the broken recoil pad with a nice limb-saver.
But I realized it does the "336 jam/double feed", and will only cycle with 1 or 2 rounds in the magazine.
No worries, I contacted Marlin, they referred me to a local Marlin authorized repair shop.
The gunsmith stated it needs a new carrier, but must be a 35Rem specific carrier.
It is a nice gun, and piece of history...JM stamped, or course.
I am selling for $250, given that it needs a $75 part. I simply do not have the time or patience, and I am having to pay bills.
Sorry, I cannot get the photo to load upright.
