I also would leave it alone and go modern for modern accessories. I've had a few leavers in my time and always liked the Marlin best. Its heavier weight and more solid feel over the Winchester gave me a steadier hold so could shoot it better. Although, I was quite fond of the 300 savage as a lever but it isn't a 3030
Rossi seems to have some nice modern levers

I've got Marlin 30-30 that does not have a threaded barrel. I'm considering using a suppressor with it so I was wondering how to get to a threaded barrel from here. Should I have a gunsmith thread it or just get another barrel or are there other alternatives?
I've threaded a few of my 336's. All were rust buckets so it didn't break my heart altering them. I had to move the front sight back , cut mag tube down a little bit(doesn't change round count). Then thread the barrel 5/8X24. The 30-30 is awesome suppressed with subsonic ammo.
