No longer buy from them.......I'll just leave this here for your perusal.

We were living in that cesspool aka (oregon city) when this particular incident took place and I remember commenting on their FB post about how I thought that was a pretty bad move on BM's part and boy oh boy did I get lit up and called all kinds of names. I was shocked to see how much support they got for that stunt.

It wasn't a one-time thing either. It was a multi-year program.

True, I think the 1st time they posted about it was 2011-2012, sometime in that time period IIRC. I just purchased 2 blades from them about a year prior and was pretty disgusted with them for that and the pathetic reason/apology that Les put out, but I couldn't return em so I vowed to never give them another penny of my money!

I gave up on Benchmade years ago, Own a lot of Spyderco's and a couple of Protech's one of the few companies that make a left hand auto. ZT also makes a very nice knife.

So to recap, took them 16 days to get the knife back to me. No email notification like they said they would send with tracking. Just a fedex email forwarded to me. The sketchy kind your not sure if it's a scam or legit. No new screws, no new clip, yes a new blade I paid 95$ dollars for and yes they sent me the old blade but no they didn't even sharpen the old blade for me. I've told everyone one I know. They all agreed to never buy a bench made again. Send them a message. You suck.

There are many other makers out their that make a great knife. Benchmade used to be a great company but the founder died and his son who is running it now, is a little douchbag. The gun stunt and frivilous lawsuit they brought against Mkc pretty much seals the deal for me not giving them any of my money.

I've never been a fan even before their stupid gun stunt! :s0155:

Looks like one of their Godfather or Godsons? Have a few of them and they have been VERY nice knives. Wife is a south paw and wanted to get her a lefty one but they were out of stock so I bought her a US made OTF. She really likes it. Ever since I found out we could have auto's here again I was like a kid in a candy store :D

Yes, it's a Godfather, I tried to find one for a couple of years they were always out of stock so one day I called Protech and asked about a left-hand godfather or godson, the guy said we haven't made any in a couple of years but were just finishing up some left hand godfathers and told me who they were shipping to.

There's way too many good knife brands out there to waste your time with a company who has both high prices and poor customer service.

Of all the knives I have owned, I have found that I really like D2 steel and there are lots of D2 knives out there for two digit prices. I have been carrying a Boker for the past few years and really like it.

Agree I had a high end spyderco and the Civivi d2 knife performed better and held an edge better. $60 vs $300. Also the other High end spyderco I bought I had to return due to really uneven grind on the edge. It would have taken me forever to try to fix their screwup. I have about 5-6 of those Civivi d2 knives and all have had perfect grinds and edge retention has been excellent.

In the year 2025, the knife market should be the poster child for the concept of diminishing returns on investment! In the realm of pocketknives especially, anybody paying $200+ for one knows that they are chasing marginal gains (exception made for decent automatic knives).

*Please note I have no issues with people who choose to pay that kind of money for a knife!

Benchmade customer service used to be well known for being incredible when I was into knives about 8 years ago. I say good riddance. Their knives are well overpriced for what you get anyways, and they don't have exclusivity on the axis lock style locking system anymore.
