Can anyone help me if this knife is authentic or fake or provide some info?
Seems real. Quality is real nice. If faked they did a very impressive job.
Thank you

I know a lot of them also didnt have retaining pins. Most have a peened pommel.
I used to collect WII M3 knives...even had a Imperial marked one...late War , marked on the guard like yours...
With two pins in the pommel....I have never seen one , either in real life , or pictured that was actual WWII GI issue without two pins.

Novice opinion.
Assume fake unless you have reason to believe otherwise.
Seems way too crispy fresh to be 60+/- years old. Was it actually unissued? Did you receive the cardboard box? Any cosmoline or other packing grease present?
Might have been unissued, but no proof it was unissed. Didnt come in a box.

What I'm saying is this. Anything that old isn't going to be that nice unless it's come down a very few , narrow, paths.

From collector to collector, it wouldn't be cheap. Laying around forgotten, it wouldn't be that nice. If it was still greased up in the box I'd say maybe it was just pure good luck. Pretty long odds on the last one there.
