My uncle, Frank G. Townsend passed away this last week at 93. A veteran of the navy and the marine corps, served during WW2 in the pacific fleet. A quiet unpretentious man, never spoke a word about his service. Semper Fi uncle Frank, you will be missed.
 
Semper Fi to your uncle and thanks for his service. My Dad went ashore Normandy, and has been gone 27 years. These guys were bad asses before the term was even invented. Not very many left.
 
Sounds like a heck of a man! I wish I could have heard some stories from him. May your family heal the wounds of loss quickly so you can move on and celebrate his life.
