Unfortunately I gave back the keys to the grouse kingdom so my grouse hunting days are gonna go way down. On the up side I have more duck and goose hunting areas than I can hunt! I'm sure limited access will be everywhere due to the fire danger. Hope you can find a few new spots Andy

I had to give back the keys when I retired from the BLM as well. You'd think a golden key would be retirement benefit, but nooo.

Ya a parting gift would have been nice! There is still one local timber company that will get me a key for hunting season
A round here it's all whore-houser so you've got to pay big bucks per area. Bugs the beejeebers out of me because with the O&C lands checkerboard ownership half the gated property behind the gates is publicly owned. The roads in and out are built and maintained by the BLM.

There is alot of that here too, state and fed land that gets locked up because of weyco. The small family owned timber company's are awesome to deal with, weyco not so much. I don't see how it's legal to charge money to access ground that we as citizens own? But on the other hand I don't blame weyco for locking things up, a few bad eggs ruined it for all of us
