Looking For New Budget Bolt Action 270 Rifle. Suggestions?

In the PNW, I would not consider anything unless it was stainless.

Used Tikka 270 T3 stainless with scope is $600 on Gunbroker. That is nearly the same price a budget rifle will cost by the time you scope it.

It will be for range use.

A few years back I picked up a tc compass in 6.5 for under $200 brand new with rebate, I picked up a Compass II in 300 Win Mag for around $250 and a couple of different Savage model 12s 308 and 223 for around $250ea. All of these were new from retailers and all had rebates. Those days are gone and we have to search harder for lesser deals. A 270 is the one major caliber on my list that has escaped me but not for long. I am leaning towards the Savage Axis 2 so I can do a barrel change to 30-06 one day far down the road.

Another vote for ruger american. Great shooting gun out of the box, I know they arnt exactly a budget gun but I still see them in the low 400$s
