What happened to all the 30-40 ammo? I just took my md.1898 out of the closet after a few years and thought I'd heat it up. Finding ammo is a challenge. Has this round gone by the wayside?
Finding any kind of ammo right now is a bit of a challenge.
As for .30-40 Krag...its been uncommon for many years* and bit on the spendy side.
Which too bad as it is a excellent round and the various rifles for it are kinda neat.
A quick search...shows out of stock...and prices from $43 -$66 for a box of 20....Yikes.

Last time I saw 30-40 Krag on a shelf it was $40 a box and That was 15 years ago. At that time Remington was only batching it every other year. No idea if Winchester was even producing any. I Got my Model 1895 Winchester from Dads estate in 2002 and quickly bought up 200 New pieces of brass and maybe 100 rounds of once fired. Everything else component wise is the same as .308
