rougebw,
Is the reticle the same as the TMR and how far does the reticle's vertical and horizontal lines go out from the center? I have looked through the newer Leupold Mark 4 and the reticle is very small in the center but I can see how that would be disruptive in viewing animals. Also, is it the HD version?

When on the low power the reticle is small. It is FFP so at the highest power it is all the way across the field of view. The TMR is the same way. The Mark 4 I believe are all HD versions. They only have 2 models for the mark 4 in this power range and the difference is the reticle. I have owned several high end spotters and the glass on these is very good.
The reticle is different than the TMR I will post pictures of the difference tonight after work
Yes, I know these scopes are great! I have the 12-40x60 GR HD without a reticle. Mine is in premium condition but I did not buy it with the kit. I use a MeFrotto tripod with mine. I just saw your reticle pic and my personal debate from first seeing your post and now is still in the thicker lines and dots of the mildot vs the tmr. I love the trade with cash offer but I will need to think about it for a bit. The pics through the scope at different powers will be of great help. Thanks
Here are some pictures to show the reticle. They go in order from 12x, 20x, 30x, to 40x. I didn't mess with focus much and it is still hazy down here from the fires.
