In the last legislative session, Kitzhaber and his cronies in the legislature attempted to pass a bill that would have required that you ask the permission of the State Police before giving a gun to your oldest and best friend. You might very well not be allowed to lend a handgun to your girlfriend without the consent of the state, while you were out of town on business.

Kitzhaber indicates he supports the following principles concerning gun issues:

• Increase state restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms.

• Maintain state restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms.

• Favor allowing citizens to carry concealed firearms.

• Require manufacturers to provide child-safety locks with firearms.

• Hold gun owner legally liable if a child obtains a gun for use in a crime.

.. Worst yet, he is in a powerful position that allows him and his kind to harass and ostracize my community.

The sooner we can actualize "Defensive Lifestyles" as a protected group the sooner our complaints have legitimacy when it comes to discrimination.

An anomaly for sure. Gotta appear on the side of some limited gun rights. How difficult he wants to make it for citizens to carry concealed firearms he doesn't say. I'm sure he's in favor of many more legal hoops to jump through than exist now in getting a permit.
