I really don't think celebrity gossip is responsible for the dumbing down of America, it's more likely to be the public school system brainwashing entire generations to worship the state and the collective as opposed to respecting individual rights and liberties.

I didn't say celebrity gossip was the main vehicle for the dumbing down of the American populace. I said the TV was; it is the main reason each year Americans get just a little more deluded and complacent.

Everything you see on a TV is handed down to the sheep by five major corporations. All of it serves of purpose. Non-thinkers see something with their own two eyes and doubt its validity, but if it is shown on the boob tube it is absolute reality not to be questioned. As for reality TV, these lowlifes are the real roles models for today's American twittering-twit youth. Parents don't have 1% of the influence the TV has; all by design.

Next time you are watching the boob tube (once you wake up to the manipulations) notice that in just about every TV commercial the man is a bumbling idiot that can't think for himself and the woman is sharp, witty and intelligent. That is the case in just about every commercial. The corporate message is you are too inept to function - just shut up, hand your wife the credit cards and send her to the mall.

Corporations have hired, and have access to the top psychologists in the world, including originally the Freud family, and they know exactly how to manipulate the masses. Whether it is selling toilet paper or a war, they've got the people by the balls.

Look at someone like this Kadashian skank. She is all about nothing - just what she is buying or wearing - and that is the mentality that the banker media wants the masses to cling to, period. Don't think about anything important, just keep buying so you can get the things that will make you more desirable to other people, increase your self-worth. Fear is the greatest motivator and in this case the fear is that others won't accept you if you don't buy this purse or drive this car.

Too bad you're missing out because US TV shows are still some of the most creative entertainment in the world. Just don't watch the idiot reality shows, the infotainment "news" with talking heads and the power-worshiping court jesters lecturing the public to serve the Borg.

If people don't have the mental fortitude to resist propaganda (be it government or corporate), that's their own fault. If parents fail to teach their kids that TV presents a fictional worldview, that is also their fault.
