And, as the article pointed out...the average person doesn't learn from the past mistakes of themselves or others. In a social media society, anything that isn't in today's feed is ancient history, why bother looking to the past and learning from it. For those that are ready, these unprepared folks will become the enemy, looking to take from those that have out of some sense of entitlement.

We've learned that in every other occurrence the people that were effected rolled up their sleeves and pitched in to return their homes back to "normal" as quickly as they could. We also learned that they didn't need to rape, loot and steal from each other to do it.......

When a high-regard for the lives and well-being of other people evaporates (crosses a threshold) with these or perhaps other realizations;

Too many do not fully appreciate what is being done for them.
Too many want more, far beyond what can be provided.
Too many make the same mistakes over and over again.
Too many forget what has been done for them in the past.
Too many will steal from you or from each other.
Too many never see the 40% skimmed off the top.

Where is your threshold?

1 - Do not live anywhere near New Orleans.

2 - A carbine or rifle with a suitable optic for urban environments is desirable for each family member that is suited to fire a longarm.

3 - Training with said longarm should be paramount, in order to preclude hostile close encounters with those seeking to rob/loot/assault.

4 - If authority-type persons advise it is time to leave, take what valuables you can....papers (insurance-bank-financial), money, credit cards, food and water. Beat feet and leave the knuckle-draggers behind.

5 - Put the survival of your family, clan/close friends above the "value" of property. That will be insured and replaced, your life and that of your family cannot.
