This old beast belongs to my father. I thought it was awesome and I decided I would share it with you guys here.

Occassionally the old man will stick it in his pants, walk around and tell everyone its his pirate gun.

A little history . . . Its an old percussion pistol from the 1800s. I believe It was a prototype from a company marketing to the military at the time. Not a whole ton is known about it.

The front barrel band for the octagonal barrel, is indicative of military; probably 1840-1850; may even be an early flintlock conversion. No ramrod?
Better pics of the top, sides would might help identification ...

Nonetheless a fun fine pirrrrrate gun ... Seahawk pirates would love it in a belt ...
