Maybe this should end up in the stolen gun sticky, but since it's local news also I'll post it here:

The movie prop Winchester that John Wayne used in the movie "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" was stolen while on display in the "Movie Madness" memorabilia museum, on SE Belmont Street today. From what I recall, it had the over-size lever and has "John Wayne" engraved on the receiver. Obviously going to a private party scumbag, kinda hard to fence this one.
By the way, the SAA that Clint Eastwood used in "Josie Wales" was on display there also, but after today maybe not.

PORTLAND POLICE PRESS RELEASE:

Portland Police Bureau detectives are asking for the public's help in located a wanted fugitive involved in the theft of two guns from a Laurelhurst neighborhood video store.

47-year-old Erick Duane Johnson was identified through tips from the public after surveillance video and photos were released by investigators. Johnson has a parole violation warrant and there is probable cause to arrest him for Aggravated Theft in the First Degree.

Johnson is described as a white male, 5'7" tall, 185 pounds, short brown hair or bald, blue eyes. Johnson rode away from the store riding a dark-colored mountain bike.
