JC HIGGINS MODEL 31?

Ignorance needs help.
I just acquired a 22 Cal.JC Higgins model31-Sears583-75 (Semi-Auto)
The exterior lever that injects the first shell is missing. I do not even know the name of it. I have looked @ exploded sehematics. Could not separate it out of the maze. I live in Myrtle Point, Coos County Or.
Q. What is it's proper name? General cost if known?
Easy to install, or gunsmith required?

Are you talking about the "Cartridge Lifter" or the "Magazine Throat".
Go to Numrich Gun Parts, look up your gun, then look at the schematic.
If you press & hold down the "CTRL" key and then rotate your mouse wheel, the image will expand or shrink.
