Fiocchi. 124gn fmj.
That still doesn't explain why the gun wnet off twice almost simultaneously. If she was a new shooter Iwould be inclined to attribute it to human error. But that is not the case at all. This happened 3 years ago.

could the striker have locked in the channel creating a fixed firing pin open bolt scenario? I know it isn't similar, but it reminds me of a tt33 that had a dirty firing pin channel, the cases looked reminiscent.

I don't doubt your experience for one second. But if 1.2 million are sold every year I think if there was a systemic problem with p365 we would have heard thousands, or at least hundreds, of reports. So again I don't doubt it at all but must be a fluke. I recall several reports of hk usp blowing up (some in this forum). But the USP is known to be probably the most reliable semi auto handgun ever made.

I agree it's not common. But there are similar cases listed and Ben Stoeger of recent posted a video speaking of a similar case. But I quit shooting factory ammo subsequently in 9mm. I had been loading many cartridges before but now have included 9mm. I didn't totally dis the over pressure concept.
My wife refused to shoot factory again. Never a issue since.

The Wilson Combat frame makes a HUGE difference in how it feels in the hand and pointability. I carried a G43 for awhile (still carry a G43x with Shield Arms mags occasionally) but moved to the P365 with factory mags with MagGuts internals for those times when concealability and capacity are paramount. It is a pocketable gun (with large enough pockets) and carries VERY well no matter how you want to carry. It isn't a hammer of Thor or anything, but it fills the CC niche pretty well IMO.

The first time I handled one, I did not care for the feel. I was pretty dedicated to my Glock 43 and reluctant to give anything else a real try. (I've carried others that I have but, the 43 was my primary) Lately I have been revisiting the P365 and realized it really fits my hand well and has very good point ability for me. Long story short, I picked one up and it is now replacing the G43 as my EDC. Something about this little shooter keeps grabbing at my attention and I can't seem to put it down. Once I've found the perfect 124gr defense load, it will be my new constant companion. It is optic ready, but not sure I'm going to put one on yet. It has a really good set of night sights on right now.

If the P365 is your EDC, what brought you over to it, and what are your favorite likes about it? Share your story if you like.:)

I have several Glocks that I originally purchased to practice with and not put a ton of wear and tear on my collection of Kimber 1911s and I do have 2 G43s with Trijicon RMRs on them and after hearing so much love towards the SIG 365 I thought let's take the plunge. I picked up a P365 Legion and it fits my hands really well especially down under the trigger. The flat trigger takes some getting used to but I put a Holosun 507 green dot on and it has quickly become my favorite CDC and actually conceals really well. I liked it so well that I picked up the new SIG Xten comp and really like it as well for my take on the woods gun for archery hunting.

I go back and forth between G43X MOS and P365 depending on what I'm wearing. P365 is small, lightweight, accurate, but a little snappy. I shoot it well, but shoot the G43X better. YMMV.

Well, she's coming together. I picked up a Tulster OWB kydex holster and today the PA Classic 21MM green dot showed up. I got it intalled and have to say, after playing around with it a good bit, I like it so far. Hoping to get out next week to the range and get it sighted in. Look for that update.

Just because I have too many all black guns. I wasn't going to do it but, figured for less the $40, why not make it more mine?! :D

P365 range day today! I ran PMC Bronze X2, Norma X2, S&B X2 and some Hornady American Handgunner XTP +P. All 124gr. I put 300rds FMJ and the 25rds of Hornady through her and she ate it all up with no issues. I did discover one quirk though. With the XTP, it would not chamber the first round using the slide release. It did however, chamber every round using the sling shot method. I shot at 8yds and 15yds per my bag rangefinder.

ETA: I shot without the PA green dot just to get a feel for the gun. I'll sight it in with the optic later.

I would polish the barrel feed ramp shiny to ensure it is smooth . Being that it is new I would also load full the magazines to set the springs . The bullet weight and nose configuration in some pistols are finicky . Just some thoughts . :)

I've found xtps to be a problem bullet profile in several otherwise entirely reliable pistols. I have a Glock 30 with about 60,000 rounds through it and the only malfunctions it has ever had where with 2 boxes of critical defense which I couldn't get through a single magazine without a failure.

After my range day and, having a disability that affects both my hands, I did notice after shooting a good bit, the P365 is a tad snappy. Not unbearable perse but, noticeable. I put a Hogue Handall grip on it this morning and it greatly improved my grip and should absorb some of the buck. Last add on and she goes in the Tulster for drawing practice before EDC. Really loving this little 9mm!
