There are a quite a few places out towards Estacada and into the the Mt, Hood forest. Google maps can be your friend when looking for a large opening or pit.

Though, if you are the type that likes to bring TVs, washing machines and leave your spent shells and beer bottles, a club might be a better choice.

Definitely not interested in shooting appliances and making a mess. Just want to throw some clays in the air and blast them.

I'm not familiar enough with that area to be comfortable picking a spot where it's legal and acceptable to do so.

Finding a good shooting area is half the fun. Sounds like a good road trip is in order to familiarize yourself with the local forests. There are a bunch of apps you can download that show boundary lines to make sure it's all legal. Huntstand is a decent one, though there are others.

If you are on the west side, Brown's camp area has some access to plenty of spots for Clay's. Might be a bit closer.
