Why do people want to look homeless these days? Wrinkled clothes, unkempt hair, etc. Remember when people tried to look nice? This lady for example:

Well Since I am a teacher and its still summer....I have no class...:p:D

While I don't think that everyone needs to go around around town in a suit and tie or a dress...
Clean clothes and good hygiene is a must .

Should you dress to fit into the occasion...yes indeed...
My usual of faded jeans , boots and a flannel is great ...but not for every time and place.

And thats fine, but people under 40 seem to try to look homeless. Not casual, but homeless.

Across the board yes. Do I hate cancer, of course, is it approproate to put "F*CK CANCER" in huge letters on the back of your truck? No, it's not, it's classless. Sorry if that hits anyone here close to home, but it's part of a general lack of civility, morality and civic pride across the board.

And I'm sick of tampon, vagina cream, and male enhancement commercials during dinner time! And why do I have to explain to my child what "Dank's Wonder Emporium" is when their commercials show up on YouTube between Pepa Pig and Baby Shark cartoons?

We have a jackwagon 21yo at work who I don't think ever learned to shave. He looks dirty and claims to be poor like it's cool, yet he already owns a house and is looking to buy another. Poor my rear end! Arrogant to boot yet totally unskilled. Makes my generation look absolutely awful and I resent him and people like him for it

People used to dress up to get on a airplane. Now when you fly it's like everybody just stepped off the bus from New Jersey. Same thing with Las Vegas. It's like they let anybody into a casino now.

If this part of the state is any indication, by and large, yes it is. It is saddening to be sure that most people look like a train-wreck when out and have manners consistent with said appearance. I'm glad my parents and grandparents drummed into my head good manners and grooming. If they like it or not, my two wee ones are receiving the same training.

The odd thing is I can't really pinpoint when it changed in our society, though it was certainly within my lifetime. For that matter, I can't figure out the "why" either. But something did change.

I like casual. Cargo shorts or faded carhart jeans are my favorites with flip flops or leather boots.

That and I got fat so I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on nice clothes. I'm back into my mid clothes (xl) so I have a lot of nicer shirts and such.

Almost back to my 38" pants and I have a lot of nicer office or church type clothes in that size. I grew up dressing up but after I got bigger the PNW relaxed fit everything lifestyle started to creep in.

We also don't go out much and work is cargo shorts so I'm in that most of the year.

What can I say.. gen X'er and we invented grunge but the millennials invented slobbery.

Well one thing is for sure...
We aren't poor...per se...but there are times when it is tough to find $20.00...
That said....
We are clean and look presentable....Being poor and or less than "monetarily inclined"...doesn't mean that you have to be sloppy in manners or dress.

I have a LOT of trouble understanding why people today are so willing to pay $100.00+ for a pair of Jeans that are already full of Holes? Paying $100.00+ for the pair of Jeans is CRAZY to begin with but when they're already worn full of Holes, well...
