Is a holstered gun considered safe?

I say yes holster = safe. but i feel that my pistol sitting on my coffee table is safe. as well as the one here at my office or my EDC. It never has shot anyone on its own. matter of fact none of them will go off until trigger is pulled. Kinda a design thing. lol need to pull trigger to go bang!.
The firearm never scares me its the operator that is "safe" or "not safe".
though i dont own any Sig's

I guess it really depends on what gun, what holster, and what situation. But with a P320, the answer is most likely no.

I consider my Glock 19 safe in a Tenicor Velo5 Kydex holster. If I didn't I wouldn't be carrying it.

I agree with Andy, All guns are safe.
Its the animate that make the inanimate active.
Though I'll be the first to admit I'm not part of the majority, I refuse to blame others or other things for my own inabilities what ever they stem from. If a holster is unsafe, so is the person wearing it.
But as an aside: due to the p320 near segue mention , it would also seem its degradation obsession has become Sisyphean.

I don't think firearms are ever safe. I can't think of one thing in life that's truly safe. Even the solid ground beneath our feet is part of one of the most seismically active regions in the country. The best we can do is recognize risk, mitigate where possible, and live our lives.

A round contains combustible powder generating tens of thousands of PSI chambered, and that pressure is pushing a projectile at high velocity. I treat that with the respect and care it deserves. As a result, my chances of making a mistake or experiencing an accident get closer to zero, but never actually zero.

A properly functioning pistol in a properly functioning holster is highly unlikely to fire without human input, but people should feel free to add on layers of risk reduction as they see fit: point it in a safe direction, un-chamber when not being worn, thumb safety on, hammer down, etc.

Air Force Global Strike Command issued an immediate pause and subsequent investigation of the use of 9mm Sig Sauer M18 handguns, and the service as a whole directed a service-wide supplemental inspection of the pistol. The probe into the incident led to Friday's announcement.

"Since then, the investigation has progressed and an individual has now been arrested on suspicion of making a false official statement, obstruction of justice, and involuntary manslaughter," an Air Force spokesperson said in an emailed statement. "As with all individuals accused of a crime, the person arrested in this case is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law." ]

This new twist in the story makes me wonder if someone had a legit ND which sadly killed the guy and so he tried to use the Sigs holster issue as an excuse.
