You can use a paper clip as well. Just bend the tip 90 degrees.

I have had a few of those in the .223 and carry a long lag bolt in my box to get the case out of the chamber. Thing is that it has only happened with once fired Lake City brass and didn't show a clue.

Per DizzyJ the paper clip works. Here is the first one I ever found with the paperclip checking out the reason for the weird line. From one of my Mausers and I re-barreled it shortly there after.

Cleaning them doesn't hide the line, correct?
