I have a sling swivel stud that I'd like to install on a synthetic Remington 870 shotgun stock. Is there any rule of thumb on where this should be installed? Like, say an inch up from the heel of the stock?

Any thoughts on the merits of putting some epoxy in the drill hole to make sure the thing can't come loose?

I think that with synthetic you really can't go too wrong. If you want to go an inch, that's probably sufficient. As for epoxy, as long as you want to make the stud permanent, then knock yourself out! Like I said, it's synthetic, so it's not like you would be hurting it any to put epoxy in it. Enjoy!! :s0155:
