Thanks Craig & Tracy! Good work. Glad you had good weather and some time in the woods.About ready to just start a thread of Just dumping in the forest.
Tracy and I went for a drive up the Peak today. It had been a while. Once we got out of the fog just as you turn on Mary's Peak road it was a gorgous day. We checked out the BLM pit to see what it looked like. The pit area needs a definite clean up. I havent seen it this bad in a long while. Someone also figured out how to get their truck back there and 4wheel also. Will see if I can get the group from work before January and get lucky with the weather. We picked up the gate area and parking lot to fill 2 bags. Shooting glass bottles seemed to be the theme. Stopped and picked up trash as we drove up to the 3000 line. Most of the spots going down the 3000 line were pretty good. The lower gravel pad was occupied but looked pretty good. Went back up and went left at the T. Picked up a bunch of cans and garbage at a camping site on a spur road. Just down the road we started seeing more trash in front of another spur. Well we found another homeless dumping area. Coordinates are, 44.51373, -123.59506. Pretty are those are correct. We picked up the mess and headed home. Please forward to the FS if the mess was on their land.
Fun day even with the big mess. The pictures up to the panaramic sunny day are the quarry.
Afterwards is the homeless camp.

Will they change the times come summer?Report on Yacolt Burn State Forest in SW WA...
The lower section of the 'Burn' has had a couple changes recently. 4 previous shooting spots are now closed and 1 remains open, but with restricted hours. The 4 spots closed are fine because they weren't good places to shoot due to public safety concerns. The 1 remaining open, 412th Ave 3 RESTRICTED HOURS, is the one with the good backstop.
I've updated the Trash No Land Shooting Map with the info: https://www.trashnoland.org/
No, doesn't sound like it. It's for the nearby neighbors and noise control mornings and evenings. It's also only in that one small part, not the whole forest. I'm not opposed to showing a little respect for the neighbors. Just glad they didn't close down the one good spot.Will they change the times come summer?
Yes. That's the L1610 Rd from Jones Creek Trailhead Parking Lot.Is to the left coming from jones creek?
The 1st one on the left is okay for a short range into the gravel pile, but people have blazed a trail on the right side of the gravel pile all the way to the trees. Targets are being put on trees and those will come down soon. It's a bad look on us.Cogs,
When I drove out at 12:45 pm on Thursday the red had active shooters FYI and the blue was open.

Yet DNR will not lift a finger to improve public safety. We could certainly improve that one at the 4 way intersection by walling off the roadside and rerouting the motorcycle trail. But that would make it look like DNR sanctions target shooting! And the bigwigs in Olympia will not have that!There is always a group shooting at that rock pit on the corner. And on the other side from the 4 way the gravel pit watching people shoot at the rock wall with the road next to it as people drive by
You know Bill, I have a feeling this is the same place that Jane and I did our first clean-up. It rained the whole day almost. It was really cold. You had three canopies set-up and grilled burgers. @Caveman Jim came all the way down from Elma, and brought smoked Kokanee. I got the last WELL done burger on the grill. After we were done cleaning and eating we got to do some shooting. It stopped raining. You/Ian allowed me to shoot your Krag-Jorgensen deer rifle. And another member allowed me to shoot his AR-10.I'm excited about 3 things, and not so excited about 1...
Excited:
1. Gun owners are getting together this Saturday to make a difference at a target shooting site and showing how we care for our environment and our kind of recreation;
2. We get to meet new people;
3. We have a good chance at winning some prizes from @Sporting Systems and MinuteMan Ammo!
Not So Excited:
1. The weather! Showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 54. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
So bring a rain jacket, just in case!
