I couldn't help but notice this 1982 campaign poster in an article about Frank "the Flake" Peters who attempted to run as an independent for Governor of Oregon in 1982. Peters was a Portland bar owner who traversed eastern Oregon buying a round of drinks in every small town bar he came across. This would be followed by a speech and having everyone leave an entry in his "sacred book" about their concerns. This photo taken during that trip was turned into a campaign poster. He never did manage to get enough signatures to qualify for the ballot. Quite a character from Oregon's past.
