Sig Guy is a great teacher and has many awesome videos on his YT channel.
It's fair to say that many P320 trigger springs are bent and ruined when using the wrong method.
I trashed (bent) my first one not knowing the proper method.

I used that guys videos during all of my deep dives looking for issues. He did a really good job going over the differences between the "gen1" and "gen2" P320s too. I posted that video before but still worth the watch if you haven't already.

This will never be a carry gun for me. More than likely just shot at the range or thrown in the back of the safe. More of a tinkering/testing thing. I like to see things first hand. And obviously doing so I have changed my mind on certain things. I'm kind of a "Doubting Thomas" when it comes to specific items. I need to see it first hand to believe the claim.

Did you stipple the grip module?

That one is stippled yea. But I need to get a new one now cause I broke/cracked the grip module during drop tests. I practiced on it to see how the plastic will react. Totally different than a Glock frame. Once I get another one I'll definitely stipple it too. I'm picking up an Xcompact module this weekend and I'll probably chop the grip to take 15 round mags. I like the way the P320 shoots but I hate the way the gun feels. It literally feels like a toy or an airsoft gun to me. Even the stock trigger is spungy and feels like a toy gun. I don't like the high bore axis or the crazy beaver tail. I also could be biased because I've been shooting Glocks for almost 20 years.

I did like the TXG module though. I used to edc a X5 legion for 6-8 months before selling all of them. I had a permanent bruise from that beaver tail on my stomach.

You really should try an RXM. They are like a Glock 19 with a grip module from a Sig. with your veterans discount, you could get one at Cascade Farm and Outdoor for $380 new.

They just came out with one that comes with a threaded barrel form the factory for $429.00 there at Cascade Farm and possibly BiMart. I always buy at Cascade because BiMart doesn't do veteran's discounts.

I have an M18 grip module in FDE. If you want it let me know. 20 bucks shipped and still has the mag release button in it.

I love the Glock 19. Have 3 of them. No need to get a different version at this point. If it feels like the P320 that would be a turn off for me.

The thing is if it's indeed a QC issue "the 320 I tested didn't do this" is relatively immaterial to whether a given 320 can do it.
The problem is, there is no "it".
"It" has turned out to be a myth.

Myth - a traditional, sacred story, often involving gods or heroes, that serves to explain a culture's origins, natural phenomena or societal values, though it can also refer to any untrue story or concept.

There really is no debate. Until someone proves the guns go off on their own it's just a myth.
If that's an acceptable standard of proof for you to carry something hot and pointed at your balls all day, be my guest. It's not my balls.

There's enough smoke I'll assume theres at least a low double digit percent chance of fire. I'll carry something else thanks

That remains the core of the debate.
That "debate" will probably go on in back channels until the end of time.

And here, my fellow shooter, is where the "bear schitz in the buckwheat"....

Highly regarded gunsmith Mark Novak, premier SIG experts Bruce Gray and Robert Burke have weighed in with their opinions and those opinions reinforce my belief.
There is nothing mechanically defective with the P320.
The civilian and duty versions do not have external safeties and I believe this version was not a great option for a duty gun.
I think at the beginning SIG should have offered a duty version and a "sport" version of the P320.
The sport version would be the basic P320 that we have now.

The duty version would be specified by the individual department buyers.
The base model would have a bladed trigger and manual safety.
+10% power trigger and sear springs might be an option.
The dept. purchasing agent would specify what safety features would be included.

Only speaking for myself. I do not have confidence in the platform and will never carry it. With that said I think something is actuating the trigger. Even if it's only partially. Too many variables and too much smoke for me to have confidence in it as a carry or duty gun. But at this point I think something is pressing the trigger to some degree. Even if that's a partial trigger press and physical contact with the slide causing it to go off. Even though I now don't think the gun is just "going off" there are so many other better/proven options that I'm not willing to take the risk.

Genuine question, not trying to dunk: if it's just the lack of external safeties, trigger tabs etc, why doesn't it also happen more with the p365?
