I'm retired now and have the time to persue my favorite hobby. I live on a farm in central Texas and have made my own pistol and rifle shooting gallery. I started shooting with a Stevens break open 410 and an H&R .22 revolver. While in the Navy Reserves I shot 1911's and I bought my first firearm after Active Duty in Navy Air Reserves. I still have that fine HighStandard Sportsman. A Great .22. I started Deer Hunting with a Winchester .264 Win Mag. Another great gun. Since then, I've been Dove Hunting with my Winchester 12 gage pump. I found I really enjoy restoring firearms for friends and occasionally for myself. I retired from the Austin Texas School Dist. Now I wish I had become a Gunsmith. I look forward to perusing some of your Posts and sharing a little of my experiences too. Saludos, Bill

Welcome Aboard. Glad you found the forum.

This is the best place to hang out on the internet.

I know that you're not in the Oregon/ Washington area but we've found the best way to meet the community and learn where and how to use public lands responsibly is through grass roots involvement.

If there isn't a local group that advocates for responsible stewardship of public lands, check out Trash No Land.
