Since I very rarely carry, I don't have an every day carry piece, per se. But on those occasions when I have done, or when I contemplate doing so, I have two that come to mind first and foremost. (1) Glock G19, (2) Smith & Wesson M36 w/ 2 in. bbl.

Some years ago, I had a Ruger SP101 in .32 H&R Mag that was a carry gun. It's gone.

I don't currently carry (too lazy to get the permit....it was much easier to do in SW Washington), but when I do sometime in the future, it's going to be either my Glock 45, or my 642 Airweight. I'm selling my Glock 26 on Saturday, and putting that money towards either a gen 5 Glock 21 (to carry on duty), or a Glock 30 (preferably a gen 5 if I can find one...), so that I can carry ten rounds of .45 goodness when or if the 10-round mag limit goes into effect. I'd rather carry ten rounds of .45 than ten rounds of 9mm.

We have until Jan 1 2028 now. I just got some really good deals on standard cap mags for some guns that they didn't originally make 10 rounders for. They are that old.

I don't normally carry but I think about it.

Usually I think about carrying a 1911 but it's heavy to think about.
So I grab a j frame S&W but then I think it's too wimpy.

In the end I just put a snickers bar in an ankle holster and call it good.

In the process of doing a complete 180 in regards to what I carry. Going from a G19 to a S&W Mod 66. Not 100 percent there yet. Need A bit more time behind the gun before making the jump from striker fire to revolver.

I only CCW the same, Sig P365. It has the smallest footprint of what i own and feel I'm proficient with it. Only thing I'm considering is adding an optic to it since I've slowly concerted my other platforms to optics

Yep my EDC is boring it's my Glock 19 Gen5. But I'm proficient with it.

I went a similar route with the Sig P365 platform for the same reason footprint vs proficiency. Hard to beat when you actually carry it consistently.

On the optic side, the Holosun EPS Carry makes a lot of sense on these smaller guns, especially being enclosed. Biggest thing I've noticed is the tradeoff isn't just size, it's how well you can consistently pick up the dot under stress with that shorter grip and sight radius.

If you haven't already, it's worth putting reps into presentation specifically with the dot. That's where most people either justify the upgrade or end up going back to irons.

One, my G19. I want to carry and be proficient with one gun, not rotating through a bunch all the time. It's the one gun that comes out on every single range trip for that reason.
Oh and of course I would never hesitate to grab my M&P 2.0 Compact optic ready 9mm. But I've really concentrated on my Gen5 G19. I struggled with it until I took a formal pistol class.
