Around 2000 , there was a Mauser 98 rifle that was up for sale at a local auction.
Made in 1915....then converted to 98K specs....seeing use in WW II.
At some point in time....it was then sent to Vietnam and taken as a trophy by an American GI.
This particular rifle had some related Vietnam War documentation to go with .

Interesting rifle with a long service life for sure.
