At least I think it's a Turkish Mauser? Any idea on the sale value of something like this?

Thanks for any help.

Turkish Mausers like this in 7.92x57(8mm Mauser) tend to sell around $200-$300.
That Ank Ara mark shows it to defintely be Turkish.
Had sold a few just like it while working at Cabela's.

Another way to get a going value for a gun is on GunBroker. Register on GunBroker and you can search completed auctions by clicking "Advanced" to the right of the search bar and click "Completed Auctions". For instance. A 1942 production in similar shape tp yours sold for $450.00 with only one bid. Yours has better bluing remaining.

The seller one this ^ one tends to think his guns are worth more than they are sometimes.

If you do list it I would be interested.
Would you ship?
I am a FFL

I was under the impression he was looking to buy it for himself? It's a very nice looking gun. Great bluing. and just enough personality to make it interesting.

Well dang it, brass cleaning rod kind of cool. Yes a nice gun and one I don't have.

I have a "good friend" in Hawaii that I have called frequently to ask about a prospective gun purchase. He is a wealth of knowledge and has a good pulse on gun prices and factors that affect desirability.

I suspect that most people who ask in the forums.....are looking to price their prospective sale of whatever it is. Mostly I say this because, this sight dose not allow auctions. But, that being said.....they might also be looking at a buy scenario. Or they could be looking to reinforce their belief that they had indeed "paid a good price".

But, I admit that I don't KNOW what their true intent is. And, that includes even if it's stated early on.:s0092:

Aloha, Mark

There are members here that I send a PM to asking about a gun I'm looking to buy. Several times now. For some reason, it never occurred to me to ask on the open board. Hmm...As much as I read here I've come to know which folks are fond of what arms and will send them a request for their input. Seems to me someone looking to SELL their gun would research elsewhere then put up an ad and throw a price on it and see what happens. That's just me though. Different strokes for different folks!

Now that I think about it. Can't remember last time I SOLD a gun. :D

We are considering listing it. I just didn't have any idea of the worth. Sounds like 300.00 would be a good price if we decided to list it. Thank you!

I hope it's OK to ask the worth of a gun before listing it?

I don't really care. But it's kind of a fine line. For sale ads are supposed to be in the classifieds. Asking on a main, non classified, forum what a value is just to get people calling with offers to buy. I'm not saying that's what I think your doing though. Heck, I was hoping you were going to be showing of the new gun you got for a killer price.

To me that gun of yours looks pretty good compared to some on Gun Broker. I'm thinking if you list it as low as $300.00 it's going to go quick. Unless the bore is messed up/shot out. Or something else funky with it.

Very sorry, that was not my intent. Like I said, I'm not even sure I will list it. Is there another place to ask price questions? Should I have asked in the classifieds? If the post is a problem, I hope the mods will delete it.
