So I've got my next purchase down to about four rifles, in no particular order:

-FN TAC3 Duty
-Zev Core Elite
-LWRC IC-DI
-ADM UIC15 Mod 2
-(if I can find it) BCM RECCE 16" MLOK

My first choice would be the BCM. But this rifle in that spec is as rare as the dodo bird. Can't find it anywhere.

This rifle would be for self-defense and carbine courses, with possible duty use if I go back into Armed Security work as a private contractor.

It MUST have a 16" barrel, I don't want a pinned-and-welded flash hider/muzzle break. I would also prefer QD attachments on the handguard and ambi controls, as well as a good trigger that doesn't need updating (but it's not a deal-breaker, providing the rifle is good).

I don't want to build, and I don't want a Daniel Defense, for reasons I'm not getting into because I don't want to derail the thread.

So besides building a rifle and Daniel Defense, what other rifles should I consider, if not the ones above? I've heard some good and bad things about Geissele Duty rifles, so I'm on the fence with them.

So of those five, which would you choose and why? Thanks!

Fwiw, I built a geissele out of 100% geissele blems and clearances... It's one of the smoothest rifles I own and handles suppressors like a champ. If you can afford a geissele, I would be hard pressed to say you won't be happy.

I "build" all my rifles so I can't say much about anyone's factory options.

Is there a reason you're opposed to ordering online the exact spec you want? I see many BCM 16 Recce with Mlok on gunbroker? Don't know if prices are ok, seems right at MSRP.

Edit, I just like building, but if thats not an option, online orders? Maybe?

I recently purchased a Sig Sauer M400 SDI Series X. It's a pretty solid rifle with a fair price tag. Full ambi lower, very lightweight mlok handguard, CHF barrel, flared magwell, 2 stage match light trigger, full Pic rail up top, forged upper and lower, but had to add a bcm mlok qd attachment to the rail though, easy $20 solution.

For what you get with this rifle, I am genuinely surprised more people don't talk about it. It's a huge upgrade over their crapp_ m400 tread v1, and a significant upgrade over their tread v2 and predator variants.

Of those.. the BCM would be my first choice too. From there... the ADM, but as for the others... not for me and the ZEV I would stay completely clear of. I really only see the BCM or the ADM as viable and should get you in the ballpark of what you described.

As for others. Other than the obvious it seems you've already considered.... I don't got much. I mainly build and I do really like the BCM's.

I don't want to build and I can't find a RECCE 16" rifle anywhere unless it's 1) Keymod, which i don't want, and 2) a pinned-and-welded barrel, which is also not what I want.

Unless I'm mistaken, this seems be what youre looking for but "Standard BCM Parts bought gun fully built from a retailer and only shot 100 rounds through the gun. comes with 20 round mag. and Leupold scop ring 30mm " is not that clear if its actually the Recce 16 model, or a parts built with BCM parts to approximate the model? Looks like Mlok tube too

I appreciate that thanks, I've seen that one but I don't want it used. I should have specified that, my mistake.

However, I found ONE that looks to be new, and I'm going to call them in the morning and see if it's actually in stock. Website says it is, but I'm going to call and verify. If it's in stock, I'm buying.

Real hard to find, but it looks like SSoutfitters might have an MCMR in stock(?) Privately owned LGS in TX. They're legit. 1.7k ponies. A little steep, but....

$1600 and no prior sales history (NR) + unknown shipping costs? Gross

At least get the mod1 at 30% off this week with coupon GUNS30. Zev value dropped and FN is overpriced. There are deals to be had. Hope you find what you're looking for 👍🏻

Awesome, I'm saving that link, thanks!

Thanks....I'm looking at the UIC Mod 2 because it's machined from billet and they have Criterion barrels. But I did consider their lower-priced options.

In as far as FN and Zev, I've never seen a rifle get more hate on AR Reddit than the FN TAC3. I found the Duty model, which ticks all of my boxes save for maybe one (the trigger), for $1,357. I think that's a reasonable price for what you get.

And I didn't know Zev's value dropped, but if it's a good rifle then I don't really care because I ain't selling it. Now, if they have QC issues, then I'll take a pass.

Anyone have any experience with PWS? Looks like nice rifles.
I have one of their lowers I assembled myself with their Mk111 upper. ~3500 uneventful rounds later and it's still going strong. Probably one of the nicer AR pattern rifles I've personally owned. No crap to the face when shooting suppressed and much easier to keep clean.

If I were going to be doing a DI AR ever again, I'd be looking at Geissele, BCM or SOLGW.

My vote would be for the ADM; I think their ambi lower is the best you can get (even over the deservedly respected LMT Mars lowers) and the Criterion barrels are top-notch.

If I were ever to buy instead of building an AR, the ADM checks just about all of the boxes for a perfect all-around carbine.
