The Only way it could possibly reflected badly on ..."all of us" . Is if she had a ' TRUMP 2024 ' Bumper Sticker found plastered on her gun safe door when they confiscated her firearms.

That is by design. They only see that because they are only shown that. No one wants to talk about how basically all the mass murderers of the last few decades were known metal cases who were let slip through the cracks. This case is an example of what should have happened with all the others; rounded up and charged before he could hurt anyone.

Want to make headway? Start talking about mental health issues with anyone who will listen. Point out that mass murder is a mental health issue, and that is the common denominator, not guns. Remind them of the mass murders that happened without guns, the ones that used cars, or fire, or bombs, or even knives. They still happen too, so ask why they do not count when it comes to "solving" the problem with "gun control"? Why not pursue policies that will prevent all mass murders, not just shift them away from guns and make the mental cases choose another option from the pile?

I have found that it more effective to not argue against gun control on this topic, it is far more effective to point out that gun control is a red herring and present a better, more comprehensive solution instead. Gun control is not the solution, mental health reform is.
