I've had to choke a couple of dudes out in my day.... but it WAS in the line of duty, and only until they calmed down and realized they were about to get some bones broken.

I'll admit that some people deserve it, or are askin' for it, but Leroy here apparently was not.

The trick isn't actually choking off the airway, it's restricting the blood flow through the jugulars that makes them light-headed enough to calm them down.... that's where flexing decent biceps and forearm muscles come in handy.

Exactly. And for the love of god get UNDER the chin. It may take a couple of attempts and a little softening up but once you get under, you can lock up and it's time to squeeze.

There is a big diff! One has an arm around your HEAD, as in HEADlock. And the other has an arm around your neck or a hand or two around your neck, thereby CHOKING you or causing you to become light headed.

I don't doubt that you would fight when being restrained. Many people would. But bashing someone with a glass hard enough to break the glass, esp if it's a beer glass, for a headlock... yeah, there's your escalation of force and he's gonna lose that one in court.
