That's the one I have.I just checked mine and its hot but not as hot as it used to be. Its coming up on 10 years old. I'm going to try one of the ones at BiMart. Made by Hornady FWIW.
The too hot or not hot one? That's the one I have.
The one I just bought (the hot one) is the SnapSafe from BiMart. The too hot or not hot one?
I picked one up today. Works great. It's not too hot to touch but plenty warm. I just opened the door and I can feel the difference. The one I just bought (the hot one) is the SnapSafe from BiMart.
Not sure if they all produce identical heat. I can touch it for maybe a couple of seconds.I picked one up today. Works great. It's not too hot to touch but plenty warm. I just opened the door and I can feel the difference.![]()
I have Peet Dryer as well. Works great.I'm different, I run a Peet Dryer in the safe, has worked perfectly and not hot to the touch. Safe is garage mounted, so wintertime it gets a real workout. Although the garage is probably around 60-65 most of the time (we leave the door to the garage open), considering it's a part time gym and reloading room.

You bring up a good point. I've got one of these inside my safe and take a quick look at it every time I open it up.Make sure you're not drying the air too much. On the west side a hot rod is a no brainer but east of the cascades it's often too dry to run one without shrinking and cracking stocks. I bought a humidity meter for my safe and found I'm actually a little dry for long term storage of antique arms. Just a little FYI.
