I believe felony use of deadly force would apply BG armed or not.

Had already committed an armed felony & TC'd a police vehicle.

Deadly force is applicable.

Again in my understanding. Even in California.
Yeah but there's unfortunately two sides to deadly force. The letter of the law side, your probably right he was justified. Then there's the social and political side that probably isn't worth it.
The problem with this incident is applicable or not the guy was fleeing and, at that moment, not putting the officers life in jeopardy. The fact that the officer reacted at that split second and stopped firing, is impressive.

Did no one notice the police dog coming in from the lower left corner at 4:16?? That's probably why he quit shooting, to let the dog have him!!
Yeah I saw the dog. Glad the fur missile brought him down and the thug did not get away to cause havoc elsewhere. I hope they let the pupper chew on him a bit as a reward. Its the only way thugs like that will learn.

Notice the dash cam when the police car went over those speed bumps. That gotta not feel good on one's back and back side. I wonder if any of the perps caught lead when they were chatting at the officer in the vehicle and the officer shot the vehicle. We can at least hope some of that scum was removed from the gene pool.

If it were me there have been dead perps and this would have been another nation wide news story.

If you look at the end, when the officer's body camera shows inside the vehicle, you will see a body there. The body position and the disinterest of the officer suggests it was a meat sack.
Nite the skin color of both perps - there's a clue to the silence of the media.
I recall there being three guys in the beginning. Where was the third?
Edit: the knee of the meat sack in the front seat:

Mom and dad must be pissed that junior used Mom's CRV for the crime.

I don't remember if it was this forum or on YouTube, that I was reading about whether or not your safe is bolted to the floor.

My safe is large & heavy, so I never worried about it.

After watching this video, my safe is now bolted to the floor!

The safe my wife got me for Father's Day several years ago was supposed to give me room to get some "accessories" out of her craft room. At the time, I couldn't half fill it with guns, so she got her wish. Now, all the "accessories" have found their way back to her craft room, (she has only herself to blame) to make space for more guns in the safe. It weighs about 1,000# empty, so I didn't worry about bolting it to the garage floor. I might also rethink that.

The reason to bolt safes down is to help prevent tip over & leverage type attacks. May also help prevent cutting attacks on thinner steel, depending on how it's situated.

Safes, cabinets & lockers are simply delay defenses, which should be parts of layered security.

I'd Put Money on the property owner Not getting his Property back
they will Fabricate a reason .

My safe weighs 850#. I bolted it to the floor.
Half a dozen men could make short work of moving a 1000# safe, that was not bolted to the floor & wall.

I know "booby traps" that are designed to injure or kill are bad, but what if you just did that bucket on a door trick but with canola oil? 🤔

Normally I would use olive oil but these days that liquid gold is inside the safe!

I like the canola oil idea...

What about booby traps designed to capture or detain?
