I just finished watching this video by Gunfighters, Inc. where they take a training course in Bozeman focused on grizzly bear defense. It's about 30 minutes, but there's a lot of good information in it and I took a few things away.

My initial takeaways:
1. Capacity doesn't really matter. You'll be lucky to get 2-3 shots off - IF you train!
2. Marine flares
3. Bear spray is pretty limited (I've known this from my own testing, but they demonstrate it well.) That doesn't mean it's useless though.
4. I need to do some real training. $425 for a 2-day bear focused course seems like a no-brainer! https://tacticmt.com/products/surviving-the-griz
5. Train with your gear as you'll be carrying it in the woods. I've always known this and have to some extent, but not as much as I should.
I think it's awesome to see a trainer offer a course like this. I had no idea anyone was doing it (I never really looked, honestly), but it makes a lot of sense. There may be others, I haven't searched yet.
