A friend told me his story of squeaking away when he felt something on the side of his head..... a cougar's nose!
Apparently, the cat,his shotgun and himself went 3 different directions.

Great tale! To speak too the sharpness of predatory bird talons I rescued a downed Coopers Hawk from some dogs at my local city park. I captured him easily enough and carried him home. Now comes the fun part, releasing into a small box! I did it with due diligence but not quick enough! The darned hawk did a kind of flip, got a talon into my finger and opened me up like a can of ripe tomatoes! A razor blade couldn't have done better! Six stitches!
Glad to say the Audubon Society healed the bird and released it back into our neighborhood.
I have also had a coyote barrel into my position! Quite a thrill!o_O
