Is it just me?

Yeah.....I hate "optics" mounted on a pistol's slide. IMHO, it makes little to no sense. I mean, in most cases, the "sidearm" is supposed to be used to defend one's self (in a sort of last-ditch defense). Otherwise, carry a rifle.

Of course......Uniformed Police (and undercover) are another story.

Yup......without even mentioning the added cost involved and bulk.

Aloha, Mark

PS.....if the military is buying without the optic......well, as a TAXPAYER I'd have less apprehension over the deal

Well I can't convince you to try one. Or ever cary one.

It was almost impossible to convince myself.

The guns with COA sights are bulkier. But I'm glad to say not really any heavier.
They remove slide steel to mount the COA real low, and the optic only weighs about 1-1/2oz. So weight is about a wash.

I am not eligible to access the Blue market, but have looked at what the COA has to offer to the Glocks. If your Glock is a the MOS model Holosun has the new SCS MOS model that sits down in the slide without needing a plate, and put the optic in the line of sight of the pistol sights. Also has the circle dot on it. I have it on 2 of my 10mm pistols (1 Glock and 1 S&W) and have had zero issues. Just my 2 cents. Just saying there is another option.

Looks like (asking) prices for COA pistols on gunbroker are pretty steep, either already or as always.

I recently got my first holosun, for my 365, after hemming and hawing for awhile. Just after I did so, the Internet started telling me I need a closed emitter unit, and I might as well throw away my open emitter. Hard to keep up!

That happens all the time. Buy the newest iteration of something and then the 'newer' model is announced with the newest best thingy on it. Never fails. Open emitters work just fine, especially on the 356

Like I said. I really like mine.
But part of that is for the value proposition.

I wouldn't pay crazy prices for one. They will be back soon.

People are seemingly split on hard to obtain items.
Some get resentful. And others will pay through the teeth!

I have neither view.

I am sure the COA is pretty nice. I have a P2 and do like it alot.

some of us old guys just like optics
and I don't use pistols or sidearms for defense only, lots of hour of recreational shooting at swinging steel and "bounce the can"
I just got an optics ready slide for my HK VP9, I never intend to use this pistol for self defense, just range work
I used to shoot my Colt AR at 600 yds with iron sights, now my ARs have optics also

I'm glad I snagged myself one a little while back! Shot it yesterday and I'm really happy with it 👍 Dots may not be for everyone but I like em!

It's OK. I'll keep my 1-4× optic on my AR and refuse to upgrade. I also have hammer fired pistols made out of...metal!

To who ever may be interested.

I was just down at Keith's. He still has some Blue label COA's

I also saw a 19 COA there.
Non Blue label. Price is just under 1K.

Let us know if you snag one.
