I just bought a Buck 110 Auto Elite and a Gerber Empower. (both are great knives that use CPM-S30V steel). The Empower in in my pocket as I speak. Here she is.




I am preparing to have my father's old 10.75" Latama Fishtail Picklock Automatic knife replicated (Identical to the one he bought in 1938) and carried on deck as a Boatswain's Mate/Underwater Demolition Team ("Frogman")/ Navy Rifle Team from WW2 on through the rest of his Navy career.

I have this 9.75" AGA Campolin Fishtail Picklock and it is okay, but they use stainless steel instead of the original 1095 carbon steel (it is also an inch shorter than my father's knife).

I just sent the knife builder $433.00 ($425.00 + $8.00 shipping,). He starts working on it in two weeks. 45 years after my father's death, I'll finally have the same 1938 Latama-style knife he carried aboard ship.
