Fingerprint scanner help needed

Just bought a new MacBook Air that has the fingerprint key on the keyboard and would like to know if there's any way to link my passwords to it.

Never had a Mac, so hopefully some who do can do more. I have a couple cheap android phone that have the scanner and it can be used with not only the phone but with my bank accounts. So I would have to guess on a higher end machine like that surely it would offer that option.
