Excellent, titsonritz! You showed the differences in ... literally! ... black and white! It's all there for anyone to see.

That is, when I say "anyone", I mean I would guess 90% of Americans will understand it.

Probably only 25% of unAmericans, though.

Socialism is about the nonproductive "citizens" wanting to be in charge of the productive citizens. You can see this in the history of many American cities. Capitalists went to work in some city, and after the economics of industry, productivity, and innovation took hold, the city became big, rich, and a magnet to those wanting to "cash in". The socialists showed up, won the local elections through no merit of their own, and right away turned the rich city into a socialist wasteland, pretending they had something to do with the city's prosperity.

And now the Dems are trying to buy votes. Mexicans and black folk are not our enemy, they're good folks who love their families and believe in America, but the socialists are the enemy, and many of the Mexicans and blacks are starting to turn to voting Republican. The Dems see that and are now trying to buy their votes with "reparations."

LOL. Nah....they went to sleep EARLY.

And note that they're not "wasting electricity" lighting up streets and empty buildings, etc.... Good for the environment.

Rrrrrrright......

Aloha, Mark

Nothing is stopping anyone from going to a socialist utopia and living their best life. Knock your self out.

Me, I take the word of all those that escaped those commie hellholes that want no part of it. Pretty much no bigger proponent for free market capitalism than a Cuban refugee.

Or anyone that was able to leave when the iron curtain was still up... as well as most who decided to leave afterwards.

I worked with a Polish guy that fled by hiding in a traveling circus. Truly an amazing story. We were on opposite sides during the 80s when I was a US Navy Submariner and he was a Soviet Polish Sailor. He was a hard hat diver and actually tried escaping that way first.

He sees those politicians that push for progressive government for what they are... just another controlling class looking for peons.

Oh no, there's plenty stopping anyone from going to a socialist utopia.
Many don't allow immigration.
Some of these places are xenophobic.
On a practical matter, socialist countries have few employment opportunities and finding a job and housing for an outsider would be nigh impossible.
Socialist-style countries that have some semblance of an economy have incredibly strict immigration restrictions.
For example, a socialist country like China, has no path to citizenship.

Or, for a more liberal country that is embraces too much socialism, like Ireland, you might think as an American you could emigrate there. Nope, they don't want us. I worked in the semiconductor industry, and considered applying for a job at Intel Ireland. I researched the immigration policy, and it's highly restrictive. Intel could sponsor me, but I found that the door was wide open to "refugees".

I find it interesting that we have 3 or 4 members on here that defend socialist principles.
I never hit them with "why don't you just move there" because I knew they can't or won't. They're too busy enjoying capitalism here, even if they won't admit it.

Everyone wants to stand on some side of a discussion, and sometimes they stand on the wrong side.

BTW, my wife and I are occasionally joking about going back to China, because the USA is becoming an embarrassment. We have an apartment in Shanghai, which is actually one of the nicest cities in China that tolerated foreigners and has it's own character.
Of course, we're just joking, right? Right?

Maybe they can just visit then? Like Otto Warmbier.

Millionaires and billionaires are by definition the least productive members of society. On par with most homeless people. Elon musk and Jeff bezos do in one month the amount of actual work the lowliest McDonald's employee does during the day. Sorry sweety but sitting on congealed capital isn't a "job" or "work" :(

Also is your idea of "buying votes" just proposing policies that are broadly popular? Because it just honestly sounds like you hate democracy :(

How about we delineate this question into two?

North Korea from 1953-1989, despite being a "failed socialist" "hellhole" North Korea was still by every conceivable metric the better place to live during this time frame despite being bombed to cinders by incompetent general MacArthur. Despite receiving a fraction of the aid that South Korea did it was able to build a much more robust economy than its southern neighbor and maintained that until its trading bloc was dissolved by the United States. It was also was and still is the legal government of the whole Korean Peninsula, but unfortunately the American occupation forces didn't like that so they helped the South Koreans kill a couple hundred thousand people in the bodo league and Jeju island massacres :(

South Korea from 1989 until now. However, if illegal trade embargoes were lifted I would much rather live in North Korea. I think it reflects poorly on you that your idea of capitalist success is the country with the highest suicide rate in the world, highest elderly homelessness rate, a valid, moribund culture, and agriculture that depends on immigrants and mentally handicapped people in debt bondage.
You seem confused.

Why do you hate America?

Fine by me, would the outcome surprise anyone?

I'm hesitant to go back to China, all the crap I talk online..... What's to say they don't follow that through AI and link it to entry into China, then lock one of us up to teach us a lesson?

Now, now, now, guys... :s0123:
..... let's not forget all the things socialism/communism is really, really good at.

Y'know, things like;
- mass murder/genocide
- starvation
- property theft
- environmental destruction
- violent repression of dissent
- forced sterilizations
- religious persecutions

Google is free. But the idea that Jordan Peterson knows what Marxism is when he went into a debate with a person he thought was a Marxist but wasn't is quite telling.
I don't think you understand the interrelationships of the schools of thought you are citing.

Because it just honestly sounds like you hate democracy
Oh, good, you're back! Amazing what a change of underwear will do for you.

As regards democracy, it doesn't matter, because we live in a republic. One of the Founding Fathers stated that a democracy can only last until the citizens realize they can vote themselves all of the money out of the public till. Those fellows were far smarter than any of the clowns we have in office today.

Despite receiving a fraction of the aid that South Korea did it was able to build a much more robust economy than its southern neighbor
Meaning, what? That North Korea didn't receive as much economic aid from other communist nations as South Korea did from capitalist nations? I see your point, since the communist nations didn't have near as much to give.

And they didn't build a more "robust" economy, based on the definition of robust.

Millionaires and billionaires are by definition the least productive members of society.
Ridiculous. Fueling the growth of the economy through investment (infusion of cash!) is every bit as important as working 9-to-5.

Also is your idea of "buying votes" just proposing policies that are broadly popular?
Also ridiculous. The ideas are not popular with the general public. In fact, the ideas are racist. You need to distinguish between the liberal media propaganda and reality.

I think you have potential, so I hope you can take my pointers and come back better informed.

-weaponizing LE, military and judicial systems against own population.
-rampant corruption.
-forced labor and "reeducation camps"

Yeah, their real good at plenty of stuff.

Really?? How many millionaires and billionaires do you personally know? Because I've known several and they are nothing like you describe, they are in fact some of the most hard working bustass people I've ever known.

Democracy is something to hate and something we were warned about from the founding fathers.
