Ever see something like this?

Need help identifying mystery gun.

My wife’s family has an odd shotgun (rifle?) with flip up sights. They don’t have rear notches and go along the length of the barrels. We cannot determine the purpose or origin and would appreciate if anyone has insight. Sorry for the poor picture quality

It appears to be a percussion shotgun, but has express rifle leaves on the rib. Very curious - maybe for slug shooting?

It looks like a side x side with express sights...mostly you see this with rifles...at times with a smooth bore.
The gun might even have faint rifling or only rifling at the muzzle , again faint....
Not really all that unusual for European guns made for India or Africa.
