Well the enfield was originally manufactured in the .303 round, but many were later converted to .308.

I don't know. I looked into picking up a .308 'field for quite a while, but I could never find one locally. I've since moved on...

i have a p17 thats converted to springfield 3006, its one of the best shooting guns i have. you will love them.

Most of the .308 Enfields around now are Indian models that were originally made in .308. Good guns in a caliber that will be around for a while.

Their bolt action is kind of weird in that it cocks on closing. Takes a while to get used to. I had a No. 4 Mk 2. The ten round magazine is kind of cool.
