Early Dwm Luger?

I picked up my first luger, the only markings on it on the outside are dwm on the toggle and a 4 digit serial number on the frame under the barrel 3xxx it has a grip safety and is in 9mm, the shop had just got it in the day before so they didn't know much about it. Some googling later tells me it's probably not a po8 due to the grip safety? I know next to nothing about these things, my luck I probably over paid but hey that's okay I think it's really neat. Any info is really appreciated thanks!
