I like a painted rifle. But then I only have the one thats really painted unless you count a Rem 870 Express that was upgraded with Wingmaster wood and a Duracoat finish that looks like Satin bluing.

I made the stock so I guess as the OEM I can paint it if I want to. At the same time I completely kind of agree with RV Tech
 
I don't paint my rifles because they fit too tightly into the safe as it is. Adding layers of paint would make it impossible to fit everything inside!!!
 
I think all that can be said is that paint can affect price (likely only in the negative direction if it does at all). It all depends on the buyer and how much they care one way or the other.

Personally speaking, I'd have no issues buying a firearm if it was spray-painted, assuming it was mechanically fine and a reasonable price. Spray paint is pretty easy to remove.
