Dtiving home from a doctor appointment I could have sworn that I heard on 1190 KEX (at the 5 o'clock hour) that the attorney general has approved the ballot title for IP43 and they can start collecting the 88,000 signatures....
I thought there was an appeal process to this via the Oregon Supreme Court??? Wanting validation as to what I heard....

Moderators feel free to move this if need be..

Public comment runs until May 8. They can't do anything before that date. If there are negative comments the AG will have to rewrite the title. It will eventually have to go to court because there are negative comments filed and there will be formal objections filed. Hopefully this process takes months because they cannot collect signatures until it is resolved.

Don't see anything about this on the internet. I sincerely hope that ZigZagZeke is correct! Have to watch these gun grabbers - they WILL cheat - they're rabid. I got this email April 23 from Secretary of State Richardson and I still don't know what it means - but the "Summary" sounds suspicious:

Summary:

This temporary amendment re-designates the supplements to the State Initiative and Referendum Manual by continuing clarifying provisions regarding the distribution of e-sheets, and circulation of petitions during an appeal of a ballot title to the Supreme Court.

This is related to Senate Bill 1510. There was an effort to change the initiative rules so petitioners could start collecting signatures while the courts were working through ballot title challenges, etc. The way I understand it is SB1510 protects the current system of requiring an official ballot title before petitioners can start collecting signatures: This bill protected the current ballot measures system and made clear what type of voter information will be open to the public. There was a recent move to allow signature gathers to collect signatures without using the official ballot title. This bill made it clear that in order to gather signatures you need to have the official ballot title. I am not sure what this "summary" thing is except that it is related to SB1510.

Maybe you heard the news that they were starting to train circulators for IP43 last night: Oregonian ran an article on IP43 status in April 30th print edition, here is link to photo of article. • r/orgunowners
