Have a few lined up in the coming months. The Toadies, Local H, and Sparta; Brother Ali; Weezer; and comedian Ron Funches.

Still need to get tickets for Modest Mouse and Built to Spill.

Got tickets for my wife to see Florence and the Machine, fortunately my daughter wants to accompany her so I get to play chauffeur and take a nap in the car rather than sit through that noise.

Here's some crappy pictures of photos my brother took when I videoed Santana in '87 at a Carnival in the Mission. Alex was the singer (no shot of him) and Buddy miles sat in for Black Majic Woman. This is me (in the vest) and the sound engineer going over the audio feed. Sound on Stage had 2 - 32 channel boards, one for house, the other line to KPFAs truck for a simulcast. 32 to 16 at their rig, I parked my production van next to them and jumped L&R out of their board. I was on stage front with another shooter on the roof of the closest Victorian. Some killer boss video footage and mad audio. Later that September I shot the Reno Air Races and compiled a 3:15 video montage of Reno and Santana. Turned out way cool, got me a bunch of gigs. PAX

I was actually contracted by Malo, of "Suavacito" fame, to shoot some footage for a demo reel for them. My brother's draftsman bud was a session timbales player for Malo and referred me when they mentioned they wanted to do a demo. I met Carlos in '68 at Mission San Jose HS. Here's more crappy picts of Carlos axes. PAX

My friend bought the tickets in 1999 Santana show. He's real good guitarist.

Thinking about checking out The Warning. They're playing WAMU theatre down by the stadiums on the 15th. Been following them for years now. We'll see.

I was reading some article about these rockstars. Jake E Lee was one of the guitarist that I like in the Rock/Metal sound. According to some articles it's just terrible how he was treated like "Ozzy Got Millions While Jake Had a Ham Sandwich."
Even Gino Vannelli is one of the most prolific songwriter, singer and all around instrumentalist got screwed by some producer...? Terrible! :s0092:

I haven't seen Bryan Adams on Live. Not 100% but I might hit this concert of available on local because I really like Neil Giraldo's guitar playing.

I saw Bryan Adams back in 1983 at Autzen Stadium as part of the Oregon Grand Slam along with Journey and Sammy Hagar. It was a great day.
Now that was a package deal with 3 great shows and It doesn't get any better than that! Good for You!!! :s0090:
You know what really baffles me to even think till today? Why the heck did Bryan Adams turn down the soundtrack of the original "Top Gun" and gave it to Kenny Loggins instead..? Wow!! He really blew that one and got it "Straight in The A*s!!!":s0140:...

What's the best concert you've ever been to?
Chicago Transit Authority, Tower of Power, Santana, Janis the last night she was with Big Brother. CTA came out at 8 instead of 9 (first time in the City, played Hollywood Bowl the night before for the 1st time in Kali) and they all played sitting in and out, until 4:30 in the morning. I've been to a ton of great gigs, but as a line up, this was tops. Janis would be dead a few months later. Another was the 2nd "Day on the Green" at the Oakland Colosseum. Jesse Collin Young (Youngbloods-came out solo at 8AM instead of 9 in the morning said let's play some breakfast music and destroyed), The Band (they'd been Dylans backup for a bit and we were all hoping he'd show-not), Joe Walsh with Barnstormer, then Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. That crew played until 7:30 that evening. Epic, PAX

I haven't been to a concert for probably 20 years. And I think the last one was a Christian group in Des Moines, IA.

Before that, it was Van Halen, Def Leppard, and Motley Crue back in the 80's...

So, now I have a girlfriend who loves live music and often goes to local clubs to see bands. I saw that Toby Keith was playing this summer at a casino in Spokane and mentioned it to her.

She got all excited so I started looking into it.

Holy cow! Talk about inflation! $120 per ticket!

Then checked the room rate at the casino, and they want $300 for that Tuesday night. Told her I wasn't paying no $600 to see Toby Keith.

But then I also saw that they had Travis Tritt and Charlie Daniels the next week for "only" $70 each for good seats. Then checked at a Days Inn a half mile away and a room is $90 that night. Girlfriend said that would be awesome as well.

So I think I'm going to get tickets for that concert.

Any advice? I haven't been for decades so I don't know any of the latest things to look out for or plan for. I figure a Charlie Daniels concert should be pretty low key.
Only concerts I have been too since college was the spontaneous show or two while in Vegas, getting cheaper day of tickets. Otherwise it is completely crazy how the prices have gone.
