Detroit Lake?

Going camping with the family in a couple weeks - we're spending 5 days down at Detroit Lake, and would like to get some shooting in if possible - are there any reasonably close places to shoot (in the woods, not looking for an actual range)? Nothing crazy - probably just pistols, but maybe a rifle.

Be very careful there will be LOTS of people up there this weekend. And PLEASE clean up any mess you make. I work up that way and its amazing the trash left at shooting sites.

Actually we are going in a week from Sunday to avoid crowds. Labor day weekend is a good week to stay home and avoid madness. I have to work anyway - 8 straight beginning today before my vacay.

We always clean up our mess too - usually more. Too many folk dont.

Wound up not getting to shoot - the severe fire warning had everything shut down to shooting, chain saws, atvs, etc.
