Not necessarily...
I would not suggest using an IWB holster for speed Steel, for example.
Personally, I'd be looking for something in kydex, OWB on your strong side (obviously), no thumb-break or other "retaining" methods, and a slight to moderate forward slant.

Comp-tac international holster. Last time I checked midway was running a good sale on them plus free shipping.

Comp-tac roughly 60$ orpaz roughly 30$ both can be had with lots of different belt attachment options and are perfectly safe for speed steel
